# 7.4 Tokenomics

**Operator:** **GRXCHAIN Inc. (BVI)** owns and operates **GRX Chain** and related portals (e.g., staking and governance). **GroveX Pty Ltd (AU)** operates the GroveX exchange. Nothing herein is financial or investment advice; see the GroveX/GRXCHAIN **Terms of Service** and **Privacy Policy**.

### Role & Design

**GRX** is the native cryptocurrency of **GRX Chain**, powering transactions, security, and governance across the network. **WGRX** is the wrapped ERC-20 representation used for trading, integrations, and program payouts. Both align with GroveX exchange utility.

### Asset Representations

* **GRX (native coin):** used for gas and protocol-level operations; no token contract address (native asset).
* **WGRX (wrapped ERC-20):** 1:1 representation of GRX for DEX/CEX trading and integrations; redeemable for GRX via the official wrapper.
* **Official WGRX contract (GRX Chain):** `0x45C7287F897B3A79Cd3f6e4F14B4CE568f023bD5`

### Token Utility

* **Gas fees:** GRX pays for all on-chain transactions and smart-contract execution on GRX Chain.
* **Network staking (DPoS):**
  * **Delegators:** stake GRX to support validators and earn a share of network rewards (minimum stake: **32 GRX** via `staking.grxchain.io`).
  * **Validators:** secure the network and participate in DPoS consensus (minimum validator stake: **100 GRX**; active set up to **21** validators by stake/performance).
  * **Slashing/performance:** misbehaviour or material downtime may be penalised per the validator policy.
* **Governance:** GRX holders may propose and vote on protocol parameters and upgrades (`proposal.grxchain.io`).
* **GroveX exchange integration:**
  * **Payments:** marketing and listing fees for new projects on GroveX are payable in **WGRX** (wrapper of GRX) under GroveX policies.
  * **Note:** integrations may evolve over time and do not constitute price targets or performance assurances.

### Wrapping & Unwrapping (WGRX)

* **Peg:** WGRX is intended to maintain a 1:1 redeemability with GRX.
* **Mechanics:** users can wrap GRX to WGRX and unwrap WGRX to GRX via the official wrapper UI or directly through the WGRX contract; network gas fees apply.
* **Control and changes:** wrapper behaviour and fees (if any) are governed by protocol contracts and/or governance; updates will be posted on official channels.

### Holder Benefits (GroveX Integration)

All benefits are subject to posted program terms, eligibility, abuse-prevention, and local compliance. Rebates are typically credited in **WGRX** unless stated otherwise. Caps and timelines may apply.

* **Tier 1 — 10 to 99 GRX:** up to **50%** rebate on **Spot** trading fees.
* **Tier 2 — 100 to 999 GRX:** up to **100%** rebate on **Spot** trading fees.
* **Tier 3 — 1,000 to 9,999 GRX:** up to **100%** **Spot** rebate; **50%** rebate on **Margin/Derivatives** fees; priority access to selected staking pools.
* **Tier 4 — 10,000+ GRX:** up to **100%** rebate on **Spot/Margin/Derivatives** fees; up to **80%** share of **affiliate trading fees** generated on GroveX; priority access to airdrop campaigns (Tier 4+), special staking pools, and selected **IEO/IDO** allocations on GroveX or GRX Chain.

### Distribution & Allocation

**Initial circulating supply:** **10,000,000 GRX**\
**Max supply:** **10,000,000 GRX** (fixed cap; no further minting)

* **Initial DEX liquidity (GRXswap, paired WGRX-USDT):** **500,000 WGRX**
* **Centralised liquidity (GroveX and other CEX listings, WGRX markets):** **3,000,000 WGRX**
* **Marketing and ecosystem growth:** **1,000,000 GRX/WGRX** (as appropriate)
* **Ecosystem development fund (grants/partners/dApps):** **2,000,000 GRX/WGRX**
* **Team (5-year vesting; 100,000 GRX per year):** **500,000 GRX**
* **Treasury (ops, reserves, community initiatives):** **3,000,000 GRX/WGRX**
* **Total:** **10,000,000 GRX** (with WGRX minted/burned against GRX as needed for liquidity)

### Vesting & Transparency

* Team and any other locked allocations are held in **on-chain vesting contracts** (addresses to be published).
* Treasury and Ecosystem Fund are managed via **multi-sig** with published signers and policies.

### Supply, Fees & Emissions

* **Max supply:** **10,000,000 GRX** (no further minting beyond the initial allocations).
* **Issuance:** no protocol inflation; network rewards are funded from fee/revenue allocations described below.
* **Mint/Burn authority:** burn operates per protocol logic; any future changes to supply mechanics require governance approval.

### Deflationary Mechanism & Reward Transition

Until the **burn threshold** is met, a defined portion of network fees and eligible protocol revenues is allocated as follows:

* **Delegators:** **20%**
* **Validators:** **20%**
* **Burn:** **60%** (permanently removed from circulation)

**Burn threshold:** when an aggregate **1,000,000 GRX** has been burned via this mechanism, the burn step ceases. Thereafter, **100%** of this allocation becomes **network rewards**, split as:

* **Delegators:** **50%**
* **Validators:** **50%**

*Note:* if GRX Chain later introduces a base-fee burn (EIP-1559-style), its interaction with this mechanism will be documented via governance and protocol docs.

### Initial Reference Price

At launch, GRX has an initial public **reference price** of **US$1.00**, implying a **US$10,000,000** reference market capitalisation based on the initial circulating supply. This is informational only; actual market prices may differ and can be volatile.

### Governance & Parameters (at launch)

* **Active validators:** up to **21** (governance-adjustable).
* **Minimum stakes:** **32 GRX** (delegators); **100 GRX** (validators) — governance-adjustable.
* **Elections:** validators are selected by stake and performance within DPoS.
* **Slashing:** enforced for defined misbehaviour/downtime; details in the validator policy and protocol docs.
* **Upgrades:** protocol parameters (e.g., fee factors, gas limits, validator set size) can be adjusted through governance.
